In 1987, Zamora Sod Farm was born from the purchase of over 250 acres along the Sacramento River in Butte City, Ca. The rich river loam, (known as Zamora loam) proved to be excellent for producing turf.

As Northern California grew so did the need for sod. In 1994, Zamora Sod grew as well with the expansion of another sod farm, again, on the Sacramento River in Anderson, Ca. just south of Redding. This enabled Zamora Sod Farms to reach customers from the Sacramento Valley to the Oregon border and from Reno to the west coast.

In 2010, Zamora Sod Farm became part of the Park Avenue Turf, Inc. family. Today, a combined 47 years of experience in producing and installing top quality turfgrass through-out Northern California has enabled Zamora Sod Farm to continue to be on the cutting edge of sod production and traditional customer service.

Our customers range from residential to commercial, developers, landscape and general contractors, and homeowners all with various sod needs. From home lawns to athletic fields, golf courses, parks and street-scapes, Zamora grows a variety of turf to fill those needs; Fescue Blends, Blue-Rye Blends, RTF Blend, Hybrid Bermuda, and several unique blends for special applications.

Our service areas include: Butte, Tehama, Sutter, Yuba, Humboldt, Shasta, Mendocino, Colusa, Glenn, Lassen, Trinity, Nevada, Lake, Del Norte, Siskiyou Counties, and everywhere in between. Most orders can be delivered within 48 hours, or you can pick up your order at the farm in Butte City, or in Redding Monday thru Saturday with 24 hours notice.
